- Do you want to see improved health services for people with learning disabilities and family carers?
- Would you like to develop your skills?
- Are you interested in visiting local services to assess how good they are?
Healthwatch Lambeth, the independent charity that uses people’s experiences to improve services, is looking for family carers to join their team of ‘expert by experience’ volunteers carrying out visits to local health services for their Right for Everyone project. The Healthwatch Lambeth, Lambeth Mencap and Lambeth Learning Disability Assembly project is supported NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group.
It involves visits by trained family carers and people with learning disabilities to GP practices, pharmacies, dentists, opticians and foot clinics. The visits look at how accessible and kind the service is, as well as the quality of information and advice provided. They will use the findings to develop training to improve services.
Healthwatch Lambeth believe that if services are right for people with learning disabilities and their family carers, they will be right for everyone. Get involved and join the visits team!
Deadline for applications is Thursday, 19 November 2015.
