The Consultation on Public Health Services launched in Lambeth on 14th April – 25th May 2016 for a duration on six weeks to gather views on how to make best use of its reducing Public Health grant to get the best health outcomes for Lambeth people. You can complete the online public health survey here: http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/consultations/consultation-on-public-health-services
The Government is cutting Lambeth Council’s Public Health grant by £3 million this year and there will be further cuts each year up until 2020.
This means the Council is now faced with looking at ways to spend less on services such as
- Sexual health (testing, treatment and contraception)
- Drug and alcohol treatment programmes
- Services to promote health improvement (eg: health visitors, NHS Health Checks, stop smoking services, diet and weight management services and physical activity services)
We are keen to hear your views on how we can run great services on less money whilst continuing to improve Lambeth residents’ health and wellbeing.
We will be holding a public event supported by HealthWatch Lambeth on:
Consultation on Public Health Services Public Meeting
To be held on:
Tuesday 10 May 2016
The Karibu Education Centre, 7 Gresham Road, Brixton, SW9
Refreshments served between 5:00-5:30pm
All residents, stakeholders and service providers in Lambeth are welcome to give views.
Please do come along to talk to Lambeth representatives about these public health services. Your feedback and suggestions will help us reshape services in the borough in view of our reduced resources.
