Incredible Edible Lambeth’s upcoming local food events

Please come to our upcoming local food events, organised with Incredible Edible Lambeth, starting this Monday evening at Open Project Night, 6:30-9:00 at the Impact Hub Brixton (back of Pop Brixton) 49 Brixton Station Road, SW9 9PQ. (Supper provided).

The aim is to make Local Food more successful and life easier for those already involved!

Monday 25 June: Planning together to get more people involved in Local Food

We will share people’s experience of what works, challenges and then ideas on outreach and engagement. So bring your stories and your creativity. We’d like representatives from as many Incredible Edible Lambeth projects as possible but also local food processors, cafes, shops.

Urban Food Fortnight is 21st September to 7 October. How can we plan together to make that a real recruiting opportunity for Lambeth local food projects? Growing project open days, more walks, a Community Cafe Crawl, food processing workshops…?

The Lambeth Country Show is 21-22 July. IEL is sharing a stall with Transition Town Brixton in the Flower Zone. Please email with suggestions of what you want to do there.

Monday 16 July: Selling and Enterprise

Please join us this Monday 16th from 6:30 for food and networking, event from 7-9pm at the Impact Hub, back of Pop Brixton, 49 Brixton Station Road, SW9 8PQ. We have a great line-up of people ready to input and lead discussion.

Get your free ticket here and forward this email to anyone you know involved in local food!  Share and invite to the facebook event. Or just turn up.

It is also the night of the Impact Hub party so we are welcome to join them both before and after.  (A great chance to meet lots of interesting people doing all sorts of interesting and innovative things whilst having fun!  You can attend even if you’re not a member)

We will have our own private space – the shipping container at the top of Impact Hub.

Here’s a highlight of some people coming:

  • Charlotte from Loughborough Farm Community Cafe will be sharing learning from the Create coursewhich she ran for budding local food entrepreneurs and another specifically on selling for local food projects. She will lead a brainstorm breakout on diverse income generation.
  • Sarah from Sustain will be telling us more about Urban Food Fortnight starting on 21 September
  • Stephanie from Myatt’s Fields Market will be hosting a breakout around doing collaborative market stalls and sharing what you need to know regarding selling at markets.
  • Kate from Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses will share ways in which they generate income.

A reminder of the plan for the evening…

Selling and Enterprise

Providing inspiration and information, opportunities to network, and share ideas. We will look at ways that we can generate more of our own incomes, do enterprise better and connect up our local food system. That may mean local growers selling more produce to local cafes, developing more of our own products and merchandise and improving how we do local business.

Get your free ticket here and share the facebook event far and wide
